Allegheny National Forest a 517,000 acre multiple-use public lands offering hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, ATV and snowmobile trails, camping, fishing and boating opportunities. These lands also offer beautiful scenery, waterfalls, wildlife watching, wilderness areas and virgin forest.
Cook Forest State Park 8,500 acres of public forest offering hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, camping, fishing and boating opportunities. Of particular interest is the “Forest Cathedral” stand of virgin timber.
Cornplanter State Forest a 1,500 acre state forest located just a few miles from Tionesta and offering peaceful hiking and cross country ski trails.
Tionesta Lake this 7-mile long lake is located adjacent to the community of Tionesta and acts as both a flood control dam and recreation lake, offering boating and water skiing, fishing, camping, hiking and wildlife watching opportunities.
Tionesta Market Village is a collection of 11 artisan shops laid out in a mini-main street arrangement in downtown Tionesta. An easy walk from Kellygreen, these small, seasonal shops offer a variety of artisan products from May through October.
Paluh’s Gallery is located in downtown Tionesta, an easy walk from Kellygreen, and features nature and wildlife art of Jack Paluh, as well as other artists in this genre.
National Transit Artist Studios and Graffiti Gallery in Oil City, just 20 minutes from Tionesta, are wonderful arts attractions you might want to include in your visit. The studios are open the second Saturday of each month (see their schedule) and the gallery offers the work of many local artists.
Sawmill Center for the Arts is located in Cooks Forest, just 30 minutes or so from Tionesta. This arts center offers art workshops, the works of local artists, theater productions and a variety of artisan and history events.
Sherman Memorial Lighthouse is located on Lighthouse Island in Tionesta. This is the only inland, working lighthouse located on a river in Pennsylvania. It is open to the public for tours just a few times each year to raise funds for the local Lions Club.
